New Food Assistance Convention comes into force

The new Food Assistance Convention came into force on 01 January 2013, bringing a fundamental shift in the approach, moving from food aid to food assistance. Food will be distributed only when strictly necessary to meet the immediate nutritional needs of the vulnerable people.
